SMAS Accreditation

We are delighted to announce we have received Health and Safety accreditation!

We are pleased to have gained a SMAS WorkSafe health and safety accreditation, which means we have met the SSIP core criteria recognised by the HSE and other SSIP accreditation schemes. The SMAS certificate demonstrates our continuous improvement by always working to achieve the highest health and safety level and have an effective H&S management system in place.

SMAS Accreditation which stands for Safety Management Advisory Services is a nationally recognised Health and Safety Standards which demonstrates the company commitment to health and safety and wellbeing obligations. As a professional cleaning company we have successfully demonstrated that we plan, manage and continuously monitor all activities related to health and safety.

A key aim of the SSIP accreditation is to reduce the burden and cost of H&S bureaucracy across the industry and as part of this, the Worksafe certificate is recognized by the other SSIP members who offer mutual recognition – meaning that Abby Cleaning should not have to complete a further health and Safety assessment.

Area Manager Lynsay Lundie promoted to Operations Manager

Area Manager Lynsay Lundie promoted to Operations Manager

Lynsay's story:

“I joined Abby as I had previously worked for a small family company which I found the personal touch more to my liking than large corporations which I found difficult in many ways though mainly how little the workers are considered.

I began in the mobile team doing a job I had never done before though I quickly seen ways I thought there could be change to benefit everyone some which took place whilst I was still in the mobile team.

Late 2017 I was promoted to area manager and responsible for static sites in mainly Glasgow areas, this job I enjoyed many aspects of including meeting staff and with many of them fixing misconceptions they had of Abby and many now feel valued and as a result I feel are happier.

During that time I still assisted quality checks with the mobile team which I was glad of as this was an area I always felt I understood and enjoyed being involved and enjoyed the dynamics and fast pace of the work and always put forward my ideas and also observations I had when working with the teams so when I was asked to change to my new position as operations manager I was looking forward to adapting to also assist the running of the mobile team and being in a position to make a difference.

There have been challenges and changes since my appointment as operations manager and the changes are being noticed and welcomed by the team which is important as many changes are from listening to them and assisting to better things for everyone so we can all go forward to grow and show Abby Cleaning really is different from the rest.”
